By 2024, employees at organizations of every size were using ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and other AI tools daily — pasting in client data, source code, legal documents, and credentials without a second thought.

Security teams had no visibility. Policies didn't exist. And the tools built for traditional data loss prevention weren't designed for how AI tools actually work.

Regent was founded in 2025 to close that gap. We built Regent Arc — a platform that gives security teams the visibility, policy controls, and compliance reporting they need to govern AI usage without blocking it.
